Like most of you, I grew up in America's heartland, where the practical Midwestern approach of keeping things simple is a way of life. Here at Katie's Corner, you and I have a place to talk about easy ways to put fantastic meals on your table, bring the outdoors indoors, and add cozy atmosphere to your home... all while keeping us sane in the process (imagine that!). Working together with our friends at Meijer, we can all keep things simple, budget-friendly and beautiful. And I love that!

Whenever someone asks how I got to where I am, I look back down the winding road of my life and end up at the beginning, on the shores of Petoskey, Michigan. Sure, I've found myself pretty far from home base - I went all the way to New York for college, put in my time as a struggling actress on both coasts, and I've heard my name uttered in everything from People Magazine to USA Today. Nevertheless, it's the close-knit family of three brothers and sisters, thirty-two cousins, and fourteen aunts and uncles that really gave me my start back in Michigan. Even amidst all those people, we somehow always found a simple way to make a house a home.
That's why I'm so excited to team up with Meijer - not only do we cherish our Michigan roots, but we strongly believe that when you keep things simple, you can't go wrong. There's nothing simpler than being able to buy all my projects and recipe materials in just one trip! From delicious meals for special occasions and everyday dining, to a brand new product collection (now available at Meijer stores and online!), Meijer and I have a whole lot in store for you.
The day Lifetime television whisked me away from my little shop in Los Angeles to the world of media and magazines, I never imagined that the road would bring me full circle, back to my home state, and into the aisles (and website) of Meijer. But here I am! And I couldn't be more proud and excited to be able to share a little part of who I am and what I love - some domestic simplicity you can enjoy in your own home.
